Apple Music, Apple TV and Apple devices Apps
Apple Music Feature
Apple Music, Apple TV, and Apple devices have officially launched on Windows. These standalone apps were first previewed by the company in January 2023. After being in the testing phase for a year, the Cupertino-based tech giant is now removing the preview tag from these apps and allowing users to download them for PC. The move was reportedly made to reduce users’ dependency on iTunes, which previously served as a one-stop shop that added functionality to these apps, excluding streaming services.
Apple’s support page highlights that Windows 10 and newer users can now access these specific apps. Apple Music allows users to listen to and manage their iTunes library, access their iTunes purchases, and access Apple’s streaming services. Similarly, Apple TV lets you watch movies, documentaries, and TV series from your iTunes library as well as the Apple TV+ streaming service. Apple Devices, on the other hand, not only helps you update, backup, restore, and manage your iPhone and iPad devices but also allows you to sync content from your PC.

Apple apps for Windows support x86-based PCs running Windows 10 or Windows 11. However, if users do not have the required operating system, they can continue to use iTunes. Additionally, if you download dedicated apps, you will have to download all three. If you only download one or two, you’ll be asked to download the rest of the apps first. Once all the apps are downloaded, iTunes only provides access to audiobooks and podcasts. The iPhone maker also urges users not to delete the iTunes app, as both the Apple Music and Apple TV apps read the contents of your iTunes library.
According to reports, Apple has decided to split iTunes to reflect how apps work on the Mac. The dedicated app also offers a more streamlined interface and recently added features that the older app may lack. Additionally, it will also allow the tech giant to expand its streaming services for Windows users. Separately, Apple researchers recently released an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered image editing tool called MGIE (MLLM Guided Image Editing). This tool allows you to edit images using simple text prompts. As per the preprint paper, you can do Photoshop-style editing, global optimization, and local editing.
