IPL 2024 schedule for the first 21 games revealed
The curtain was partially lifted on the much-awaited IPL 2024 schedule on Thursday, revealing the opening matches and the match schedule of the first 15 days. Cricket fans can expect a hot start between the MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore on March 22. However, the complete schedule, including the finals, will be announced later.
The first two weeks will be action-packed with four doubleheaders over the weekend, with all 10 teams taking the field during the first week itself. Highlights include the opening double-header between Punjab Kings vs Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders vs Sunrisers Hyderabad, followed by Rajasthan Royals vs Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans on Sunday. The next match is against Mumbai Indians. In an unexpected turn of events, Delhi Capitals will play two home matches at the ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam as they prepare for the Women’s Premier League final at their usual Delhi ground. Sportstar understands that apart from the 10 cities announced as hosts for the first 21 matches, the league stage will also be played in Delhi, Dharamshala (Punjab Kings), and Guwahati (Rajasthan Royals). PBKS and RR will continue to play two home matches each in their second home fixture.
